Research shows that it is likely in people with type 2 diabetes that more than 50% suffer from some form of sleep disorder such as sleep apnea.

Diabetes Experts Urge Action

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) has recognized the benefits of more aggressively diagnosing and treating sleep apnea and type 2 diabetes in patients with both conditions.

The IDF recently recommended that patients with type 2 diabetes be screened for sleep apnea, indicating their serious concern for the longer term health risks for people suffering from these two chronic disease states.
